We are also the premier floor sanding company in Kiama, Kangaroo Valley & Jervis Bay.
Coolangatta Floor Sanding uses the latest sanding and buffing equipment from Europe. The equipment we use includes large belt sanders for the larger parts of the room and smaller edging sanders for the finer work in corners, hard to reach places and alongside boards.

Your floor will be sanded several times with different grades of paper. The first sanding will be with a very rough grade of paper and this will remove any existing finish, along with a pretty thick layer of floor, in order to expose bare wood. The sanding is then done using finer grades of paper until the floor is very smooth. This will create a nice level surface for the application of the finish.

When properly maintained, hardwood floors can last a lifetime. The average carpet needs to be replaced every 10 to 12 years.
Normally sanding & finishing is a two day process, but allow four or five days in case the finish isn't dry from one day to the next, depending upon weather conditions and the amount of floor to be sanded.
There will be a fine film in the sanded areas. To keep dust from penetrating other areas of your home, we recommend applying plastic to doorways using tape and thin plastic film. The plastic and tape is available at your local hardware or home supply store.
Yes, however access to the floors will be restricted because of the need for a certain amount of drying time each day.
We will sand the floors and apply two coats on the first day, returning the next day to apply the final coat of finish. This is just a guideline, as this depends on the weather and the amount of floor to be sanded.
Recommended 72 hours after the final coat is applied (with protective felts under all furniture). Large area rugs need to be kept off the floor for the first 30 days. Use a breathable perforated rubber pad under rugs. Carpet pads are available at most carpet stores.
You have a choice of gloss, satin or matte finish for your floor.
