Flooring Advice

Try to minimise sunlight exposure as much as possible as the UV light and heat from exposure will discolour the floor boards and eventually brake down the coating

Floor Cleaning & Maintenance

Choose timber appropriate cleaning items.

Do not use steam mops.

Stay away from products that are acid base, such as; methylated spirits, vinegar and detergents.

These products will break down the coatings, accelerating the floors life span.

Ask your floor sander.

Floor Restorations

The restoration of the floor mean's that some floors can be recoated with only a light sand depending on the severity of damage, this is especially relatable in rental properties. a recoat on a floor will improve the longevity and overall life span and cover minor scratches.

Floor Sanding And Coating

Generally your floor will need to be sanded with three different sand papers, course, medium and fine.

The first coat is a sealer, which is quick drying.

Then second coat, then the next day the third and final coat is applied.

White Wash

Can be applied in various ways, the floor can either be painted white using a full coverage paint and then a clear coat which can be in the form of either a matte, satin or gloss finish.

The second way is to apply a light tint to the coating to stop the floor discolouring later on from sun exposure.

Other colours besides white can also be applied.
